On 11JUN2010, Charlie Company Marauders of the 75th Ranger Regiment commenced Operation: Rising Thunder. The operation took place just south of Johannesburg, South Africa in the remote town of Rosendal. The Operation split Charlie Company by squad elements -- 1st Platoon: Alpha Squad: Raven and Bravo Squad: Bastards; 2nd Platoon: Alpha Squad: Spartans and Bravo Squad: Barracudas.

Alpha Squad: Raven was tasked out to set up a communications post on the road to Johannesburg and defend it -- not an easy task. The Raven Squad, skilled in proficiency and accuracy, was led by 2LT. Andrew Lunsford.
His plan of motion was simple, yet effective. The Raven squad had set up sniper personnel to drive all enemy oppositions into the deep underground tunnels, where there 6 Ravens stood guarding the Bravo Objective.

This quiet fishing village was being bathed in rain as the squad moved into their positions ready to storm it. Effeciently the rain droned out the sound of my own thoughts as I grasped my rifle in my hands even tighter. This was just a simple insertion job. Nothing overly unique. Go in, download sensitive dat then destroy. Of course then we should get the hell out of dodge. A sigh escaped and as it did I couldn't help but stare at the mist of my own breath that hung in the air for a moment.

After a moment I caught the whisper of a voice through the earbud in my left ear. Grey and Bennett had got into position. I brought my hand up making a motion for Caff and I to move forward. Raising my rifle we creeped forward toward the last known position of the objective. I broke left and entered a house through the window while Caff went around to the right. All I caught wind of was "Opfor." from Caff as a burst fired from his T88 dropping them. In a few minutes a firefight had errupted in the direction of the other two. I swore under my breath as I lunged out the window reuniting with Caff as we dashed for the objective building.

As the door crumbled under Caff's foot I sprinted in to the visbile console and plugged in the laptop and started downloading the data. I heard over my headset that Grey and Bennett had finished their encounter and were moving to join us. A beep errupted from the laptop signaling the...
